Infosec Night: Subnetting

Details

DESCRIPTION: Understanding binary conversion and how networks are broken up is a foundational skill to networking, troubleshooting, packet analysis, and much more. In this session we will review basic IPv4 subnetting, beginning with an explanation of number systems, binary, and classful IP addressing, and continue into discussing Classless-Inter Domain Routing (CIDR), subnetting, supernetting, and variable length subnetting.

This class is the first part of a 2 part series that will continue into discussing how to use this information for offensive security (presented by Gomi).
